15 Mar Newsletter (Sathorn) 15th March 2019
Dear Hampton Families,
What a lovely, sunny and creative week we have had here at Hampton.
Our school has begun our new 4-week-long school-wide theme; ‘Jobs People Do’!
Each class, however, is learning about different occupations which makes for a lot of fun when the whole school combines for morning garden time…
…a lot of role-play activities are taking place and diverse language, as a result, is being used during this time!
The Nursery 1 Daisy Class spent this week exploring life on a farm and the role of a farmer!
Tractors, chickens, pigs, crops … oh my!
The children were particularly fond of seeing a real-life tractor on a farm through a video clip; the noises, its big wheels and the colours too.
The Nursery 2 Maple Class spent the week role-playing like and learning about chefs!
From new food songs to “making spaghetti” to counting chocolate chips on a cookie to stirring up some alphabet soup to graphing colourful goldfish crackers…
…the Maples thoroughly enjoyed tackling each activity that was presented to them with great pride and determination!
The Kindergarten 1 Palm Class helped to tidy up the school as they learned about the role of a rubbish collector.
They built their very own rubbish trucks, from recycled materials, and enjoyed filling them with rubbish (more recycled materials and scraps)!
The Kindergarten 2 Oak Class was greeted with a special shop in their role-play room on Monday morning.
While investigating the topic of shopkeeper, the children learned about currency, tending to a shop and customers and took on different roles to carry out a fantastic shopkeeper role-play!
Amazing job Hampton children!
Though you may be little, you sure are mighty! Keep up the great work.
Thank you to all Hampton parents for attending your child’s Parent Teacher Conference this week.
The teachers enjoyed having this special time to sit down with you and have a chat about your child’s progress and growth.
As the end of the year is steadily approaching, it is astounding to reflect on where all the children were at just a few months ago!
Bright and smiling faces were shown-off on Thursday at Picture Day!
We look forward to sharing the children’s individual and class photo with you once they are ready; more information to come soon.
Next week, with much anticipation, we all get to partake in Sports Day on Wednesday 20th March from 9:00am-10:00am at Polo Football Park.
We look forward to seeing you there, in your team colour, ready for some fun and games!
International Day is coming!
Everyone at Hampton loves this event as it truly is what unites all of us, The Hampton Family!
Please see the invitation which is included in this week’s newsletter for more information!
What will next week bring to Hampton?
Best wishes to you and yours,
Ms. Erin Burney
